2 cups beef broth (1 can is fine)

1 (2½ to 3-pound) boneless chuck roast, trimmed of excess fat

¼ teaspoon dried thyme

1 garlic clove, minced

2 large onions, sliced

½ teaspoon pepper

12 slices Provolone cheese

1 teaspoon salt, divided

6 hoagie rolls

1 tablespoon Vegetable oil

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
