1 c. brown sugar, packed

1/2 c. butter at cool room temperature

2 large eggs

3 c. all-purpose flour

3/4 c. granulated sugar

1 1/2 c. M&M's Brand Chocolate Candies

1 c. dark, semi-sweet, or milk chocolate chips or chunks

3/4 tsp. salt

1 T. vanilla extract

1/2 c. plain vegetable shortening
